After the show 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 at the Detroit Auto Show last. This time at the Chicago Auto Show, Ford released the official Shelby GT500 Convertible version.
With seven models including the Ford GT, Mustang Cobra R, SVT F-150 Lightning, F-150 SVT Raptor, Shelby GT500KR and the Focus ST which will be released soon. Chicago Auto Show was the historic event for the SVT, because the organization in 1992, SVT launched their first car the 1993 SVT Mustang Cobra and SVT F-150 Lightning.
Ford also provides an additional set of performance Bilstein dampers are electrically adjustable and Brembo brakes. With this, the Shelby GT500 Convertible is able to cut lap time at Sebring International Raceway circuit to 3.5 seconds from the regular version.
Drive mode settings can be done via the buttons on the dashboard. Drivers can choose between a sports mode to normal mode which will soften the suspension for ride comfort. Sport mode increases steering response and more rigid control without the presence of body roll.
Consumers can also upgrade with additional Performance Package Track Package. The choice of an external oil cooler, rear differential cooler and transmission cooler for longer durability. Transmission options for the Shelby GT500 Convertible is only available with a manual transmission 6-speed, same as the coupe version.
