Leonid Meteor Shower Peak


Tonight was probably the most appropriate night to see the sky. Because the Orionid meteor shower will peak tonight. The average is expected to see 15-20 meteors per hour. But, of course if the condition of the sky is really dark.

1. Pray for clear skies that night. The brighter, the more meteors can be seen.
2. Find a dark, airy and secure. For example, by going to the beach. Bring some friends as well so the atmosphere more lively. Do not forget to also bring a snack, a flashlight, repellents and other supplies.
3. Before the observations, it is better to download the software Stellarium. After that, try to identify celestial objects and a few constellations that look.



4. Starting observation. Observations should be done after hours until 22:00 the next few hours, but no later than 1:00 o'clock in the morning. At 1:00, the Moon will appear in the east and Old Moon phases makes the light dim meteors light beat.
5. Try to find constellations, Jupiter and other celestial bodies that have been identified based on Stellarium. At 0:30 o'clock in the constellation Orion in the east above the bright star Sirion.
6. Although the Orionid meteor shower is not the most crowded, but it is not possible there is a large meteor (Fireball) that appears. So keep waiting.
7. Actually, do not need a telescope to see the meteor showers and other objects. But if you have one, so-so to carry. But most importantly, do not forget to bring a DSLR camera or at least that supports shooting in dark conditions, so do not miss this wonderful moment.
